Foundations of Physics is a set of three textbooks for middle school students designed per the latest CISCE curriculum. The core concepts of the syllabus are explained in a manner that not only makes it easier for the students to understand but also promotes a sense of curiosity in their minds. Furthermore, given the innovative layout of the new education policy, it is a significantly challenging task for teachers to implement the NCF 2023 guidelines in the classroom. The “Foundations of Physics” series is mindful of this challenge and presents the subject and assessment modules in a manner that would facilitate educators in implementing the NCF 2023. The salient features of the series are:

►Key Concepts lays down the anatomical structure of each chapter.
►Do You Know segments are small packets of information presenting interesting facts about the subject.
► Tech Trivia provides students with information snippets that establish a link between the physical concepts and their relevant technological applications.
► Pioneers introduces students to scientists responsible for the development of the subject.
► Problem-solving is a key aspect of learning physics. The Solved Numericals section (where applicable) provides mathematical problems with detailed solutions related to the topic being taught.
►Experimental verification is an integral part of physics education. The activities presented in each chapter are strategically placed to provide appropriate hands-on learning experience to the student.
►Check Your Progress is a segment placed throughout each chapter designed to evaluate the student’s learning curve. This allows the student to gauge his/her ability to master the concepts being taught.
►Key Words presents all the relevant terminology/definitions discussed in the chapter.
►The important concepts developed in the chapter are presented in a compact module at the end of each chapter for the benefit of the student to review the core concepts in At a Glance.
►Two different modules have been prepared in the “Foundations of Physics” series related to the assessment of students. The Exercise section is based on the standard question patterns like fill in the blanks, true or false, and MCD.

(d) Activity/Project based-Devised to encourage students to design an experiment or some similar undertaking.
(e) Case study based- Tests the ability of students to assess a situation or some set of data
(f) Picture study based- Designed to assess the observational faculties of the student and how efficiently they can apply them to solve a physical problem.
(g) Classroom Crossword Contest-Based on recent trends in science pedagogy for holistic learning.
